  1. Artist Bio

Leslie Price is an Idaho-based beadwork designer specializing in watches. Her one-of-a-kind creations are made from vintage watches and jewelry and feature stones and beads both old and new, exotic and domestic.

Leslie is new to the art world, but has always had a creative side, and has continued to search for the perfect outlet. Known for procrastination and the habit of running late, watches ironically became her passion.

Leslie and her husband, Jonathan, currently reside in Emmett. She has lived in the Treasure Valley for almost 20 years. Her current “day job” is working as a American Sign Language Interpreter. She loves what she does and enjoys working and volunteering in the Deaf Community.

Ask her to create a custom work of art for you.

  2. Family History Posted

Because of a nearly-deadly case of salmonella poisoning two weeks ago, both my parents had to go to the local hospital; my mom got out after a few days but Dad is still in rehab.  I've found myself spending a lot of time keeping vigil.  This has it's share of interesting moments but, for the most part, you spend most of your time waiting for something to happen.

Thanks to this extra downtime and free hospital wi-fi, I've finally finished posting the photos I scanned for their 50th wedding anniversary tribute video back in 2005.  You can see the collection at wibn.net/photo/jonathan/family/history

There are 200+ photos and I guarantee there are some you've never seen before, including childhood pictures of Mom and Dad and carefully-repaired versions of photos lost to time and circumstance.

  3. Family History

Back in 2005, I put together a ten-minute slide show of family photos for my parent's 50th wedding anniversary.  At the time, I promised several people copies of the show and/or its source photos.

Four years later, I'm finally getting that done.

The photos are slowly appearing in the family history page of my photo album, and the DVDs will be in the mail soon.  Subscribe to the RSS feed to see the photos as they go up.

  4. On Sabbatical

In order to ensure that their contractors cannot be legally confused with employees, Hewlett-Packard requires that every two years each contractor must take a 100-day “sabbatical”.  Hence, I am currently on a 3-month unpaid holiday.

Fortunately, due to the economy, my sabbatical started a little early with an unplanned layoff.  Normally that would be bad news, but it qualified me for unemployment benefits that I may not have been entitled to otherwise.  Hopefully HP will still remember who I am in July…

  5. The latest...November

Wow!!  November was a CRAZY month filled with all kinds of exciting activities! Most important, was the celebrating of our TWO year Anniversary! YEAH!! We celebrated by going to a concert at the Morrison Center to see Alanis Morrissette. It was AWESOME!! We had seats in the third row, orchestra section. We also went to DaVinci's. I would highly recommend the food and the ambiance was nice, but a little spendy. Jonathan sent me flowers to work. He's so sweet!

Sherry, Jonathan's sister, also came to visit for a couple of weeks. We had a really nice time and many family dinners, of course.

LaRae Plane got married this month, so we were busy with her bridal shower, decorating for the wedding, and we had a family stay with us for the weekend of festivities. Dakota was her flower girl and she was adorable, as always. The wedding was beautiful and I loved her dress. It was almost as beautiful as our wedding!  See updated photos on the website.

My parents flew to Oklahoma to visit my Aunt and they were gone for TWO weeks! They've never been gone that long. Sounds like they had a nice visit, but not many pics to share. We stayed at their house to watch the dogs, and thankfully, shared the responsibility with another sister, Melissa. WHEW!

We also went to Idaho Falls to support the ASL in that area. They are hoping to have a group soon, and they had their first full ASL meeting. Danny gave the talk and Dave conducted the WT. We met for service on Sat and there were about 35-40 people out. They had a list of contacts from Idaho Falls to Pocatello to give out invitations to the meeting. We had a nice time. The meeting was on Sun, and they had 92 in attendance including 8 Deaf from the territory. It was awesome. You could really see Jehovah's blessing. Madeline & Kate joined us for the weekend and they both commented at the WT. I was so proud of them. (See updated pics)

Last, but not least, Larry & Rachel came to visit over Thanksgiving weekend. It was good to see them again and get to visit.

    WHEW!! No wonder, we're exhausted!!
